Camera Work Reflection

 Hey guys! Its Tejal, again, and today I'm going to be discussing about my journey with learning about camera work. So far it has been really interesting and I've learned a lot. First we discussed different types of  camera movements and their effects on the audience. I think my favorite is probably the random movement. I know it's a really simple shot but I think it's really cool because of the chaos and creativity it can add to the scene.

For our first project we focused solely on camera movements. We were given the task to create a very short story with the prompt "surprise," where we also had to include specific camera movements given along with the prompt. I had the idea of 2 girls who were going to prank their friend as the "surprise." Overall I think it came out pretty well for my first project. I was able to use all the different movements I needed to and it helped really understand how the different movements worked.

After camera movements we moved on to different types of shots and techniques. I think my favorite type of shot is a close-up for sure because of the dramatic effect it creates. My favorite techniques is definitely is a focus pull. I just think that a focus pull is so cool and I love how it changes the focus in the scene. For the project regarding different types of shots, we had to take stills of different scenes and put them together to make a story. We were given a list of specific shots we had to use. Making this was really fun and just like the previous project it really helped me to understand the different shots and their effect on the audience.
